We would like to invite you to participate in the Stone’s Buddies program for the Women & Children’s Hospital. The Stone’s Buddies program was designed to provide support to chronically ill patients at the hospital. We try to help them deal with the changes in their lives that come when you have a chronically ill child, such as new and different family relationships, financial challenges, emotional issues, etc.
We have monthly events at the hospital as well as several activities in the community for the children and their families to participate in. These events give the families the opportunity to meet and talk with others in similar circumstances. We also stock the Family lounges on the inpatient floors of the hospital with non—perishable individually wrapped food like granola bars, fruit and pudding cups, etc. The families are welcome to use the lounges 24 hours a day and appreciate the food especially late at night and other times when it is very difficult to find a meal in the hospital.
Students can receive community services hours for planning and running arts and crafts drives, food drives, and volunteering at our events.
